almost there...

Today marked Colton's first attempt at field events in a track meet. He participated in the long jump and high jump. He actually did pretty well in the long jump but was no match for the powerhouse school of Brentwood Middle. The high jump was... well, let's say, a learning effort. He's getting there, thanks to some extra coaching by a good friend, and is loving it every step of the way. In his defense, though, only 3 boys made it to the 2nd round of the high jump - almost every single one of them "scratched" all 3 of their first attempts. So I guess you could say it's a learning attempt for all of them at this age.
